I need an ark,

pure as paper

before the poem,

to celebrate

my ostrich-moments!

to dream beyond the Niles,

to find a Moses deep within me!

The PURPLE YAM !

Your purplish, tender leaves, Reaching toward the edgy horizon With a light-eating eagerness! On your leafy palms, Open, defenseless venation— Like markings on an immigrant’s passport. Like fireworks at midnight, A purple flame from the earth’s deep heart Splashes on your stemmed intersections. On your tender elbows, Proudly holding the purpleness, An unapologetic signature. Your itinerant becoming, Interweaving into the unknown future, Unabashed, un-forming entanglements. From childhood memory— A starchy blessing to the empty stomach, Your purple body broken for many! Your cloudy, spongy little roots, The manifested multiplicities, Still grounded in a firm, tentacular footing! ***

For a New Blossom

While waiting for a new blossom, Let you not forget watering the roots, Droplets will dance with your feet! While intonating a new voice, Let you not skip the hush between the breaths, Silence explodes, exactly there! While longing for a new hope, Let you not bypass those dreamless folks, A land unspools their ash-ed wishes! While working for a new world, Let you not be dismayed by the untruths, Each step is an arrival! While inhabiting this transit time, Let you not miss “now” little fragile moments, Be the sanctuary that you seek! While getting ready for another journey, Let you not leave behind the resurrection-seeds, The future is already here! ---

A BLESSING TO A DEAR FRIEND !

Let the journey ahead unravel and untangle you; Let the clouds descend and baptize you; Let the flowers bloom and talk to you; Let the rainbow shower colors on you; And finally, you become anew, look- already YOU are!
