I Know Why the Neem Tree Blossoms! (Poem)

With a therapeutic shadow,
brooding over the home,
it heals the wounds of the soul.

In the lush green branches,
stary tiny-white flowers
blossom like a firework!

On each branch’s tippy-top,
thicky green fruits
hang like tiny water pots.

The magic green umbrella
from a distant view,
insurrects from the bottom-earth.

At the peak of a heatwave,

In an arid land like this,
It blushes like a drut khayal.[1]

The spiky sunbeam uncovered
it's inner beauty & strength,
(like Zelensky in Ukraine),
forming a powerful art of resistance.

[1] Khayal in Hindustani music, a musical form based on a Hindi song in two parts that recur between expanding cycles of melodic and rhythmic improvisation. In a standard performance a slow (vilambit) khayal is followed by a shorter, fast (drut) khayal in the same raga (melodic framework).
